Metropolis of Yellowknife to choose pool builder

Pool build bids are in, town to choose from three

The city of Yellowknife is one step closer to breaking ground for the planned Aquatic Center, all they have to do is decide who will build it. Clark Builders, PCL Construction Management Inc. and Bird Construction Group volunteered for the project, with Sheila Bassi-Kellett announcing the update at the Governance and Priorities Committee meeting on July 26th.

The city government’s plan is to build the new pool next to the existing building on Franklin Avenue and Forrest Drive.

A referendum is planned for mid-November as to whether the city should provide more funds for the capital project.

The city has been working to replace the Ruth Inch Memorial Pool since 2016.
