MANSFIELD (CBS11) – A Burleson pool company accused of running away with customers’ money has now filed for bankruptcy.
Clearwater Pools and More and its owner Bryan Pierce filed for bankruptcy Tuesday. That is the day CBS 11 reported that the company had just left a giant mud pit in their backyard for ex-clients Kristie and Angela Paul.
Todd Ginley and his girlfriend Shelly Dlabaj watched this report.
“I was shocked when I heard it. I heard his name. I heard the pool – Clearwater – and thought, ‘Oh my god. He did it to someone else, ”Dlabaj said.
Ginley hired Pierce to redesign his pool in December. What should have taken four weeks took months.
Ginley had already paid $ 17,000 and was hoping the job would be done at some point.
“He told me he was an ex-military. I was sensitive to it, ”he said.
The bankruptcy files filed yesterday now show he owes money to more than a dozen different people and companies, including Pauls, Ginley, and several subcontractors who have worked for him.
Pierce did not respond to CBS 11 attempts to contact him.
